the Manilow-down lives!

A lot of people have been asking me to start writing a blog. There are several things wrong with this statement:
1. I wasn’t aware that “a lot” of people liked me or cared about what I had to say
2. Blogs were cool circa 2001
3. I don’t think im technologically savvy enough for a blog (case in point: I am currently writing this in Microsoft word)
4. Blogs are for nerds

However, after several bored weeks at my desk minimizing facebook every time someone walks up behind me, I have decided to give it a try. (at least this way it looks like im typing up an uber-important document about the life-altering world of advertising, and thus minimizes my risk for carpal tunnel switching back and forth).

Now that I have decided to regale all my adoring fans (read: 3 of my immediate family members and bored coworkers) I need to think of a good topic. Let’s say this: Ill name all of my favorite topics, and the four people reading this can vote on what you would like to hear about:

1. Barry Manilow happenings
2. Things I like/dislike about facebook
3. Weird people on the metro bus
4. Jesse and the Rippers
5. David from the Real World New Orleans’ singing career (“Come on be my baby tonight”)

7. Gambling
8. Peeps and other easter-centric candy
9. Bell Biv Devoe
10. Small dogs in clothes
11. Rolling my eyes at people in meetings
12. Cheese
13. Office buzzwords (ie. “regroup”, “circle back”, “actionable next steps”)

15. Saved by the bell – Friends forever episode
16. The word “yipes”

I've decided to call the blog "the manilow-down" and if people think its a blog about Barry Manilow exclusively, thats ok. This way, I'll weed out the weak that aren't interested in Barry. And trust me, there will be an appropriate amount of barry updates from his number one fanilow.
